GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback at the hands of No. 25 Johns Hopkins University in a Centennial Conference match Tuesday.
Johns Hopkins (6-3, 2-0 CC) surrendered only six points in doubles action against Gettysburg (5-6, 0-2 CC). Senior
Nick D'Amore (Scotch Plains, N.J./Wardlaw-Hartridge) and junior
Mike Mills (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) battled to an 8-4 loss to Eric Burrer and Alex Matisse at No. 1.
In singles play, Mills was the lone Bullet to win more than three games, dropping a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Matt Lurie at the second flight.
Gettysburg travels to Washington College this Saturday at 1 p.m.
