The Muhlenberg golf teams opened their 2021 season competing against other Centennial Conference squads at the McDaniel Spring Invitational.
The men came in fifth out of five teams with a score of 331 in a tournament that was shortened from two days to one by rain. It was their first competition since October 7, 2019.
All five Mules were within three strokes of each other, led by junior
Joel Hark with an 81. Sophomore
Jake Ghamar (pictured above) shot an 83, three strokes off his career low. Junior
Adam Marcus also shot 83, and two players making their Muhlenberg debuts, freshmanÂ
Aron Gianchandani and juniorÂ
Max Pinilis came in with 84s. Pinilis was the only golfer in the tournament to make a birdie on the par-4, 392-yard 13th hole.
The women sent two players in their first competition since October 13, 2019.
Junior
Emma Mueller placed fifth out of 14 golfers with a 96, 10 strokes ahead of senior
Katie Chen, who tied for eighth.Â
