The Muhlenberg cross country teams faced some tough competition in their first race in three weeks, competing at Haverford's Main Line Invitational.
Division I schools Villanova and Penn were joined by regionally ranked Division III teams from Haverford, Swarthmore and Washington and Lee in the two races.Â
The Mule men came in fifth, led by a 13th-place finish by senior
Jason RichwallÂ
(pictured above left). He was ninth among collegiate runners and the third Division III runner across the finish line.
Sophomore
Pat Smurla was Muhlenberg's second runner for the first time in his career, coming in 34th overall with a time of 21:34.8, more than a minute faster than the 22:54 he ran in the same race last year.
Only two runners competed for the Muhlenberg women. Sophomore
Abby Dalton came in 13th overall, third among Division III runners, and senior
Stephanie Ng (pictured above right) was 49.
