The Muhlenberg track and field teams competed at two locations in their final tuneups for the Centennial Conference Championships.
The throwers, who went to Kutztown on Friday night, and the sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers, who went to Haverford on Saturday afternoon, combined for four first-place finishes and one school record.
The school record came in the women's weight throw from sophomore
Faith Fezenko, who threw 42-3½ to top the mark of 40-1¼ she set earlier this year. In the same event, sophomore
Erica Borbi hit a mark of 38-3¼ to move from fifth to third on the Mules' all-time performance list.Â
All four first-place finishes came at Haverford. The men swept the horizontal jumps, with sophomore
JJ Ramirez-Rojas capturing the long jump and junior
John Panny winning the triple jump. Junior
Russell Neuwirth (pictured above right) finished first in the 200 meters, and senior
Abby Dalton notched the lone first-place finish for the women, crossing the line ahead of the field in the mile.
Coming in second for the women were sophomore
Annabel Jacobs (pictured above left) in the 200, senior
Kayleigh Durning in the 60-meter hurdles and junior
Lily Benanchietti in the pole vault. Jacobs' time of 28.00 was a personal best.
