NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. –
Heading into the final weekend of his collegiate career, Gettysburg College senior Danny Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) had already solidified his place as one of the top performers in the history of the men's golf program. At the NCAA Division III Championship, Harcourt held his own against the nation's best and proved his status as one of the top players in the nation, wrapping up his final round of competition with a one-over 73 and finishing tied for 15th in the individual standings.

Harcourt rose up the standings on each day of competition at the national event, going from 81st to 29th to 18th and settling into the top 15 Thursday. He finished in a six-way tie for the spot with a total score of 296 (77-72-74-73).

The Gettysburg senior posted his 11th birdie of the tournament on the par-5, 573-yard second hole, but posted two bogeys on the fifth and sixth holes. Those would be the final blemishes on his card for the day as Harcourt ran off 13-straight pars to close out his collegiate career. Among the 216 golfers that started the tournament, Harcourt finished tied for fourth in scoring on par-4s (+4) and his 45 pars ranked 13th.

Harcourt's finish was the best ever by a Gettysburg golfer on the national stage, topping the 18th-place showing by Guillermo Nakada '95 in 1994. His four-day total of 296 was the second-best score by a Centennial Conference golfer all-time, trailing only the 291 posted by Brad Lankler from Franklin & Marshall College in 2017.

Harcourt closed his career in orange and blue as the program's top golfer by the numbers. His season average of 72.9 broke his own record set last season and his career average of 74.3 also set a new program standard. He was named All-Centennial Conference First Team twice (2016, 2019) and was both the CC Rookie of the Year (2016) and CC Player of the Year (2019) during his tenure. Harcourt was recently named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) PING All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team for the fourth time. An All-America Honorable Mention in 2018, Harcourt is likely in line for more national accolades in the coming weeks.

Making its first national appearance in 17 years, Gettysburg finished 24th overall out of the 42-team field. The Bullets just missed the 18-team cut following 36 holes of competition. It was a record-breaking year for the team, which set a new program standard with a scoring average of 303.4, won nine team titles, and captured its first Centennial crown in 17 years.
