The Muhlenberg men's basketball team erased a 10-point second-half deficit but fell at Washington College, 74-65, in a game that was postponed two days by Winter Storm Harper.
The Mules (8-9, 5-5) trailed 53-43 with 6:30 elapsed in the second half before going on a 10-0 run to tie the score on a three from the corner by freshman
Nicholas Chudy.
The Shoremen (8-9, 4-6) scored the next four points, however, and stayed in front the rest of the game. The backbreaker was a three-pointer with two seconds on the shot clock and 31.2 seconds on the game clock, doubling a three-point lead to six.
Freshman
Dan Gaines and junior
Matt Gnias led the Mules with 16 points apiece. Senior
Erik WerheimÂ
(pictured above) came off the bench to record his second career double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds. He is the fourth different Muhlenberg player to notch a double-double this season.
Freshman
Noah Watson pulled down a career-high 9 rebounds.
The Mules, who are tied for fifth place in the Centennial Conference, are scheduled to play their next five league games at home.
