Meet Highlights
- Swarthmore captured both relay races. The Garnet won the opening event by nearly three seconds with Gettysburg's foursome of sophomore Natalie Wisniewski (Summit, N.J./Summit), freshman Olivia Pyott (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township), sophomore Morgan Krepp (Dallas, Texas/Ursuline Academy), and senior Cate Kosko (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury East) posting a time of 1:52.02. The 400 free relay came down to the final touch with Cara Lee managing to slide her hand to the wall just in front of freshman Ava Collin (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) for the final touch. Freshman Mia Yancey (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven), Kosko, and senior Megan Wojnar (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) joined Collin to post a time of 3:41.90.
- Collin accounted for Gettysburg's lone victory by out-racing a pack of Garnet swimmers in the 50 free with a time of 25.10. She also finished fourth in the 100 free (55.00).
- Yancey just missed a pair of wins in the 200 free and 100 free. The Gettysburg first-year was in the midst of a close battle with Lee in the middle of the pool, but Swarthmore's Georgi Mathews overtook both swimmers in the outside lane to claim the win. Yancey finished the 200 free in 1:59.39. Yancey was closing the gap in a hurry over the final yards against Sophie Rotival in the 100 free, but the Swarthmore first-year held on to win by 0.23 seconds. Yancey finished the race in 54.39.
- Junior Lauren Manning (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) logged a runner-up showing in the 1,000 free (11:07.10) and finished third in the 500 free (5:24.17). Vivian Guo won both races for Swarthmore.
- Pyott held her own in the breaststroke races against a trio of Centennial Conference title contenders. She finished between Gaby Ma and Annabella Boardman in the 200 breast with a time of 2:27.26 and she placed fourth in the 100 breast at 1:08.64.
The Series
Swarthmore picked up its fourth-straight win over Gettysburg, but the Bullets remain in front of the all-time series at 33-5.
