The hit for Scheeler was the 100th of her career as she became the 51st Moravian softball player to reach the milestone
  • The Lions scored twice in the first to move in front, 2-1, and TCNJ added two more runs in the second inning to take a 4-1 edge
  • The Lions pushed the lead to 5-1 with a run in the third frame, and TCNJ scored once more in the bottom of the fourth for a 6-1 advantage
  • Senior Meghan Bauer tossed a complete game in the circle with one strikeout as she fell to 9-1 on the year

How It Happened – Gettysburg Game

  • The Hounds took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Two batters later, junior center fielder Cameron Cassidy hit an RBI single to right field to bring Bieber across the plate
  • Gettysburg scored five times in the bottom of the third including a pair of home runs to move ahead 5-2
  • Moravian knotted the score with a three-run fifth inning. Wehr connected on her team-leading seventh home run of the season and the 29th of her career to move into a tie for second in program history with Janelle Brey '04. Wehr's three RBIs on the hit also moved her into fourth in school history with 122
  • The Bullets answered back with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-5 lead, and Gettysburg added one more run in the bottom of the sixth
  • Sophomore Madison Hummel made the start in the circle for the Blue & Grey and had three strikeouts in 4.1 innings of action. Scheeler tossed the final 1.2 innings of the contest

Quotable

  • "It was a very disappointing day; we obviously didn't do things well today," stated Head Coach John Byrne. "Offensively, we were out hit in every game we played; that's the first time that's happened all season. Defensively, when we can't make routine plays and leave people on base, that's a recipe for coming out on the short end of the stick. The game will treat you fairly if you play it the way it's supposed to be played; 9 times out of 10 those rules are going to stick. Today it was hard to overcome that; we just didn't execute when we had to but had plenty of opportunities. The bigger picture is that we are 31-3 and that's a pretty good year. I'm very proud of how our team represented us down here and we'll come back year and hopefully play a little bit better."

  • Senior left fielder Maura Kane had one hit on Saturday to give her 33 in her first year as a starter, and Kane finishes her Moravian career with 35 total hits and a .357 batting average
