LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J.—In the final race before the Centennial Conference Championship, Swarthmore College Men's Cross Country took 16th overall at the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle on Saturday. The Garnet scored 421 points while placing four runners in the top-100 in scoring and registering an average time of 2:10.42.
Senior runner Vaughn Parts led Swarthmore with a time of 25:46.0 in the 8K (average mile of 5:11.1). Brendan Penfold's average mile of 5:12.7 led him to a final time of 25:54.3. Penfold scored 67 points for the Garnet.
Sophomore Ethan Rothenberg tallied 88 points with a personal-best 26:09.7. Freshman Aidan Cantine was close behind, crossing the finish line in 26:17.0 for 92 points. Kevin Hudson ran the 8K in 26:35.2 for 114 points and Swarthmore's fifth score.
Freshman Casey White posted Swarthmore's sixth time (26:44.3), and Evan Baker had Swarthmore's seventh time (27:00.5).
Chris Brandt posted a time of 27:11.2, Jonah Ring crossed in 27:11.4, and Aiden Tomov recorded a time of 27:52.0.
Swarthmore now prepares for the Centennial Conference Championship on Nov. 2 at Gettysburg College.
