Garnet Extend Win Streak to Three in Victory Over McDaniel

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Women's Basketball earned a 54-39 victory over McDaniel College on Thursday evening. The Centennial Conference victory was the third straight for the Garnet as they welcomed back fans to back to Tarble Pavilion for first time since December 4th.

Dana Bandurick collected her 12th double-double of the season as she led the way with a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bandurick and Kim Kockenmeister got Swarthmore off to an 8-0 start. The Garnet outscored the Green Terror 17-4 in the first quarter, which was led by six points from Kockenmeister, four from Bandurick and three from T Sallie.

- The second quarter was an even battle as both Swarthmore and McDaniel scored 12 points. Norah Wingfield and Carolina Lopez each scored mid-way through the second to keep the Swarthmore lead at double-digits.

- McDaniel opened the third quarter with back to back buckets as they cut the lead to nine. A few minutes later, Sallie stole the ball from Katie Klein and converted on a fast break layup. The Garnet were 6-of-8 from the free throw line and Kockenmeister knocked down a jumper to make it a 14 point lead with seconds remaining in the third.

- For the third consecutive game, Swarthmore did not trail at any point. In the first quarter of Thursday's game, the Garnet held the Green Terror to only four points. In the previous two games, the defense stood tall as they held Washington (2) and Ursinus (7) to a combined seven points.

UP NEXT
The Garnet (12-9, 8-8) continue the postseason push with a road contest at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. Tip-off for the conference battle is set for 1:00 p.m. Swarthmore returns home to close out the season with a stretch three in games in four days to close ou the regular season. They will host Haverford  College (2/16 at 6pm), Bryn Mawr (2/17 at 7:30pm) and Gettysburg College (2/19) on Saturday for senior day at 1pm.
