YARDLEY, Pa. – Behind a final tally of 474, the Ursinus College women's golf team earned a fifth-place finish at the Arcadia Spring Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
Ursinus had five members compete at the Makefield Highlands Golf Club, a par-72 course that stretches over 5,653-yards. Marymount University won the team title with a final tally of 328, Arcadia University (391) placed second, and Muhlenberg rounded out the top three teams with a final tally of 392.
Sophomore
Kaylin Chen led the way for Ursinus, finishing tied for ninth overall with a final score of 94. Chen opened with four straight bogeys before earning a par on the par-4 fifth hole and finishing her front nine with a 46. Her day was highlighted with back-to-back pars on the par-4 13
th and the par-3 14
th holes.
Sophomore
Elliot Schott earned a 23rd place finish with a final tally of 119, while teammate
Lucy Bamford recorded a season low score of 129 for a 24
th place finish. Schott closed out her round with three bogies, while Bamford collected two bogeys on the day.
Sophomore
Charlotte DiLello finished 25
th overall with a final tally of 133. DiLello ranked second on the team with two pars which occurred on the par-4 5
th hole and the par-4 13
th hole. First-year
Cassie Denning rounded out the five Bears competing with a 29
th place finishing after signing for a 151.
The Bears will return to action on Sunday as they travel to the U.S. Army War College Golf Course to compete at the Dickinson College Spring Invitational.
