How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: Shots were hard to come by in the opening 15 minutes with the teams combining for just three. Soares was stopped on a shot in the eighth minute and Caputo came up with a stop on Lebanon Valley's only attempt of the quarter in the 15th minute.
  • Second Quarter: The Dutchmen opened the period intent on breaking the ice, forcing a penalty corner and two quick shots in the opening 3:25 of the frame. Caputo posted a pair of saves before Sheibley found a gap for the game's first score in the 21st minute. Gettysburg was held without a shot in the frame.
  • Third Quarter: The action picked up in the third quarter as Gettysburg forced a pair of penalty corners, but Lebanon Valley came up with the first shot attempt by Kat in the 40th minute. Caputo picked up another save and the Bullets tied the game just 50 seconds later as Soares blasted a pass from Unruh. Caputo knocked away two more shots in the final 1:20 to preserve the tie.
  • Fourth Quarter: It didn't take long for Gettysburg to break the deadlock as Soares put a shot on goal just over a minute into the final period. Willi saved the first try, but the rebound went right back to the Bullet senior and she slapped it home for her sixth goal of the season. The Orange and Blue dominated the fourth quarter, accounting for all six shots and both penalty corners. Lebanon Valley kept it a one-goal margin with two saves by Willi and a defensive save by Kagarise.

By the Numbers
  • Lebanon Valley led in shots 10-9.
  • Gettysburg led in penalty corners 7-5.
  • The Bullets have won four-straight games.

Double Trouble
Julia Soares scored two goals for the second consecutive game. It was the second time in her career she scored two goals in back-to-back outings. Soares tallied two goals in wins over Washington and McDaniel in 2018. Over the last four years, Gettysburg is 14-2 when Soares hits the back of the cage, including 4-0 this season.

Where the Series Stands Now
Gettysburg ended a 12-game losing streak to Lebanon Valley that dated back to 1999. The Bullets improved to 24-22-4 against the Dutchmen since the series began in 1949. Wednesday's game was the first between the two programs since 2011.
