SWARTHMORE, Pa.—No. 25 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis rolled to a 9-0 win at home on Saturday against Bryn Mawr College and now heads into the Centennial Conference Tournament riding an eight-match win streak.
Swarthmore closes out the regular season with a 13-4 overall record and a 9-1 record in conference. Swarthmore earned the second seed in the conference tournament and will faceoff with third seed Haverford on Saturday, May 4 at home at 11 a.m. If the Garnet win, they will play in the conference championship at Johns Hopkins University on Sunday. Johns Hopkins is the only team in conference to defeat the Garnet this season.
On Saturday, Swarthmore swept the Owls 9-0. Elise Talley and Christina Wang registered an 8-5 in top doubles. Swarthmore bageled Bryn Mawr in second and third doubles.
In top singles, Emma Kassan won 6-4, 6-2. In second doubles, Vivien Fernandez-Ravelo split the first two sets but won with a super-tiebreaker 13-11.
Christina Wang gathered a 6-3, 6-0 win in third singles. Senior Shivani Gupta, who was honored prior to the match, won fourth singles 6-1, 6-1.
In fifth and sixth singles, Swarthmore's Audrey Haring and Grace Dignazio won 6-0, 6-0.
Start time for the tournament match against Haverford will be announced on Monday.
