BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's cross country team took part in the largest intercollegiate cross country meet in the nation on Saturday at the 45th Annual Paul Short Run at Lehigh University. The Bullets placed seventh among 43 teams in the "White" race.
The Bullets finished with a score of 263 while Centennial Conference opponent Haverford College took first-place with 73 points. Eastern University placed second (189 points), Clarion University took third (199), East Stroudsburg University claimed fourth (230), Gannon University finished fifth (241), and Indiana University of Pennsylvania notched sixth (249). Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Gannon, and Indiana (Pa.) are all Division II schools.
Leading the pack for the Bullets was senior
Margot Hoagland (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) as she cruised the 6,000-meter course with a time of 24:14 to place 31st. Following close behind was senior
Sarah Rinehart (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), who came in 35th in the field of 357 while clocking 24:22. Freshman
Amy Milner (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and sophomore
Michelle O'Malley (Locust, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) finished 46th and 72nd in 24:43 and 25:06, respectively.

Ashlyn Booher (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) rounded out the team scoring, placing 96th in 25:22, while classmate
Kathrin O'Brien (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) came in 122nd in 25:42. Senior
Danielle DeMichael(Doylestown, Pa/Central Bucks East) also competed and placed 134th in 25:51.
Gettysburg takes a week off from competition before returning to action on October 13 with the 29th annual Gettysburg Invitational.
