HAVERFORD, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Cross Country finished in third at the Mainline Invitational on Haverford College's campus. Swarthmore posted a score of 92 with each of its top finishers scoring in the top 25.
Brendan Penfold crossed first for the Garnet, scoring 13 points for Swarthmore with a time of 20:44.8 in the four-mile run. Vaughn Parts scored 18 with a time of 21:08.0, and Lucas Heinzerling closed in a few seconds later to post 19 points with a time of 21:15.9.
Swarthmore's fourth score came from sophomore Ethan Rothenberg with a time of 21:30.4. Freshman Casey White provided Swarthmore's fifth time at 21:35.4.
As a team the Garnet averaged a time of 21:15.
Next up for the Garnet is the historic Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
