GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior
Jillian Caputo (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township) tied a season high with 11 saves in a 6-1 setback at the hands of eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins University at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium on Wednesday.

How It Happened…
- First Quarter: Johns Hopkins attacked the cage in the opening minutes with Maddie Brown-Scherer testing Caputo with a shot 4:51 into the game. The Blue Jays earned a penalty corner following the exchange and Brown-Scherer beat the Bullets' keeper following a feed from McErlean at the five-minute mark. Just two minutes later Michaela Corvi connected to make it 2-0.
- Second Quarter: Caputo held the Blue Jays at bay for most of the second period with five saves in the first 12 minutes. A penalty stroke was awarded to Johns Hopkins on an illegal touch and McErlean lined the shot into the goal for a 3-0 advantage. Caputo added two more stops in the final minutes of the first half.
- Third Quarter: McErlean converted another penalty stroke in the 35th minute. Hall stopped a shot by Bertrando in the 39th minute to keep Gettysburg off the board. Thompson had a hand in each of the next two goals for the Blue Jays, dishing to Christina Glaser in the 41st minute before converting herself in the 43rd minute.
- Fourth Quarter: Gettysburg posted half of its shots in the final period. The Bullets hit pay-dirt on a sequence of shots in the 49th minute with Beccaria shooting in the loose ball in front of the cage.

- The Bullets forced six of their seven penalty corners in the second half. The Blue Jays held a 12-7 edge in penalty corners.

Gettysburg's postseason hopes rest on the season finale against Dickinson College (9-7, 5-4 CC) this Saturday. The Bullets need a win over the Red Devils to earn a spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs.

Saturday marks the regular-season finale for Gettysburg's three seniors – Caputo,
Julia Soares (Barrington, R.I./Barrington), and
Sam Nicol (Califon, N.J./Voorhees). The trio will be recognized prior to the game.
