Meet Highlights
- For the second consecutive week, Sheldon accumulated a victory, this time, it was in the 3,000-meter run. He clocked a personal-record (PR) of 8:42.32 out of 14 competitors, which now marks the second-best time in indoor history at Gettysburg.
- Barnes and McKeever both collected their first set of wins of the indoor season in the long jump and 5,000-meter run, respectively. Barnes leaped his way to first with a mark of 21'.8.25" and McKeever notched the top spot with a time of 15:34.72, which now ranks fourth all-time in Gettysburg indoor history.
- In the high jump, sophomores Corey Palazzolo (Colts Neck, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) and Matthew Weller (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) posted fourth (5'10") and tied for fifth (5'8"), respectively.
- The 4x200-meter (third, 1:38.43), 4x400-meter (fifth, 3.53.48), and 4x800-meter (second, 8:32.28) relay teams all produced top five places.
- Barnes also competed in the 200-meter dash, taking fifth (24.60).
- Junior Matt Simmers (Franklin Lakes, N.J./Indian Hills) also tallied a top-five finish, clocking 9.40 in the 60-meter hurdles.
- Joining McKeever in the 5,000-meter run and placing in the top 10 was freshman Connor Elliott (Media, Pa./Salesianum) in fourth (16:17.90), junior Luke Matzke (Collegeville, Pa./Malvern Prep) in seventh (16:35.97), and sophomore Henry Goodson (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) in 10th (17:38.74).
- Junior Nicholas Grissinger (Palmyra, Pa./Milton Hershey) grabbed seventh-place in the pole vault (12' 3.5").
- Sophomore Charles Norelli (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) also ran in the 3,000-meter, finishing eighth (9:45.52).
- Competing in the 400-meter dash for the first time this indoor season, freshman Eric Liedtka (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) took seventh with a time of 54.26.
- In the 60-meter dash, junior Colin Motill (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and senior Ezekiel Omosanya (Lagos, Nigeria/Northfield Mount Hermon [Mass.]) finished ninth and tenth, respectively.
- Running in his first 800-meter run, sophomore William Hopkins (Raleigh, N.C./Needham B. Broughton) took ninth (2:06.04).
