COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad posted its fifth consecutive victory with a 1-0 win at Ursinus College in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored the only goal of the match just 19 seconds into the contest as senior forward Charlotte Smith raced down the left side of the field to chase down a long pass, cut into the 18-yard box near the end line, chipped a shot over the goalie and off of the far post into the goal. The goal was the fastest to start a match in program history and also falls into the top 30 fastest goals in NCAA Division III history
  • Smith nearly scored again nearly five minutes into the second half as her shot got passed the Ursinus goalie before being cleared off the line by a defender
  • The Bears almost tied the contest in the 88th minute with a header on a corner kick that hit the post

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian finished the night with a 7-5 edge in corner kicks while Ursinus had a 9-7 advantage in shots in the contest
  • Sophomore Payce Korpics earned her fifth win of the season in goal for the Hounds as she recorded two saves in the first half of the match. Sophomore Paige Harrison posted three saves in the second half
