HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's tennis team rolled to its second shutout in as many days with a 9-0 non-conference victory at Juniata College Thursday.
 
The rescheduled matchup saw Gettysburg (6-4) run out to a 3-0 lead after doubles. The top team of junior Samantha Boardman (Greenwich, Conn./Brooks School) and sophomore Amanda Vinges (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) made short work of their foes at the top doubles flight with an 8-1 win and improved to 4-1 as a tandem this spring. Seniors Maria Martinovic (Lawrence Township, N.J./Princeton Day School) and Maddie Class (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) posted an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while sophomores Samantha Anastasiou (Scotch Plains, N.J./Wardlaw-Hartridge School) and Shaye Barnes (Rye, N.Y./Rye) posted the same score at No. 3.
 
Martinovic swept her way to a shutout at the top singles position for the second consecutive day. The senior posted identical 6-0 scores to run her season record to 7-3. Class equaled her doubles partner and classmate with the same result (6-0, 6-0) at the fourth flight.
 
Vinges won her second consecutive match at second singles 6-3, 6-1, while Boardman improved to 5-1 with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the third position. Barnes dropped only two games in a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5. Freshman Alexis Rinker (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) completed the shutout with a 6-1, 6-2 decision at the sixth flight.  
 
Gettysburg hosts Dickinson College next Wednesday at 4 p.m.
