YARDLEY, Pa. – Behind a final tally of 328, the Ursinus College men's golf team placed 10
th at the Arcadia Knight Spring Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
Ursinus had five members compete at the Makefield Highlands Golf Club, a par-72 course that stretches over 6,513-yards. Stevens Institute of Technology won the team title with a total of 297, Eastern University (313) placed second, while Penn State Berks finished third with a final tally of 320.
Senior
T.J. Stanton led the way for the Bears finishing tied for 28
th after signing for an 11-over 83. Stanton fired a 41 on the front nine behind three consecutive pars on holes three through five before finishing his back nine with a tally of 42.
Junior
Evan Coffey finished just behind Stanton in a tie for 33rd place after shooting a 12-over 84. Coffey tallied five pars throughout the opening nine holes before recording two birdies on the back nine to finish with a 44. He birdied the par-5 12
th hole and the par-5 16
th hole to finish his day -1 on the four longest holes.
Classmate
Nick Troha also finished tied for 33rd overall after signing for a 12-over 84. After a 43 on the front nine, Troha finished strong shooting a 41 over the final nine holes, including a birdie on the par-5 16
th hole. Junior
Billy Cardino finished with a 15-over 87 for a tie of 51
st. Cardino earned the team's lowest front nine score with a 39, behind four pars and a birdie on the par-4 1
st hole. Cardino captured his second birdie of the day on the par-5 12
th hole but would only finish with one par over the final nine holes for a back nine score of 48.
Senior
Connor Huth finished tied for 63rd overall after landing on a final tally of 93. Huth's score marks as season low as he previously shot his best round of 94 at the Moravian university Spring Classic on April 5
th.
As a team, Ursinus finished with five birdies on the day while combining for a total of 30 pars throughout the round. Four of the five members competing tallied a par on the par-4 5
th hole.
The Bears will return to action on Monday as they travel to Lititz, Pennsylvania for the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
