• The Short Story: Hopkins' historic start to the 2019 season continued Saturday evening as Hopkins knocked off Mary Washington for the second time this season to move to 20-0 on the year.
How it Happened
SET ONE
• The teams exchanged the first 12 points of the match before the Eagles took the first multi-point advantage of the match at 8-6 following a Wren Berry ace.
• Trailing by two, the Blue Jays went on one of their extensive scoring streaks that we have come to see all season long. Sophomore
Eleni Panagopoulos had a stellar day, and helped Hopkins to a 8-0 run with four kills of her own. That run would give the Jays a 14-8 lead that they would hold for the remainder of the set.

SET TWO
• Bliss and Panagopoulos opened the second frame with kills, and junior
Natalie Aston followed with one of her two aces to give the Jays an early 3-0 lead.
• A 5-0 Hopkins run ballooned the lead to 11-4 thanks to a pair of
Louisa Kishton kills. Kishton would finish the match with 13 kills while hitting .542 from the floor.
• Panagopoulos stepped to the service line with Hopkins ahead 20-13 and reeled off five straight to put Hopkins ahead by two sets. The run saw contributions across the board, including a pair of kills from
Lauren Anthony, one each from Kishton and Bliss and one of Panagopoulos' three aces on the night.
SET THREE
• Somehow the Blue Jays managed to improved off of their .483 hitting percentage in the second set as they would hit at a .583 clip in the third.
• Leading 12-9, Hopkins effectively put the match away with another 5-0 run thanks in part to a pair of kills from senior
Hannah Korslund.
• Anthony's final of eight kills finished off the match at 25-13, giving Hopkins its 20th-consecutive win.
Inside the Box Score
• Panagopoulos led the team with a game-high 16 kills, one shy of her career-high that she set back on August 31 in the win over Roger Williams.
• Five of the Jays' ten service aces in the match came from Bliss. That marks a new career-high for the junior who previously had never recorded more than two aces in a match.
• Kishton notched her tenth double-double of the season with an impressive 13-kill, 12-dig performance.
What it Means
• With their second win of the season over Mary Washington, the Blue Jays improve to 6-3 in the nine all-time meetings with the Eagles.
• Hopkins extends their program-record winning-streak to 20 games. The Jays have not dropped a set in eight matches and are now three home wins away from matching the longest home winning-streak in Hopkins history.

• The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins volleyball team set a school-record with their 19
th consecutive win in the 2019 season. The Blue Jays completed their seventh straight sweep with the 3-0 victory.
How it Happened
SET ONE
•
Simone Bliss opened the match with back-to-back kills to open the scoring for Hopkins, as the Blue Jays ultimately jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead. After a timeout and a Hopkins service error,
Hannah Korslund picked up a kill, starting another 7-0 Hopkins run to put them up 14-1.
• Two kills and a service ace from
Eleni Panagopoulos extended the Johns Hopkins lead to 17-3
• Muhlenberg put together their first back-to-back points of the match, cutting the first set deficit to 18-5 after a Madison Forrest kill and a bad set from the Blue Jays.
• Leading 22-8, the Blue Jays rattled off three straight points with
Natalie Aston closing out the set with a service ace.
SET TWO
• Muhlenberg made set number two more competitive as they were able to take an early 3-2 lead, their first of the match, on a Laura Boll service ace.
• After a Maggie Enestvedt ace made it 6-5 Mules, Hopkins ripped off four straight points, getting kills from
Lauren Anthony,
Louisa Kishton and Aston before Panagopoulos picked up a service ace for a 9-6 lead.
• Back-to-back kills from Bliss made it 13-8 before Aston added a third straight kill to give Hopkins a six-point lead in the second set.
• Panagopoulos bookended another four-point run with two more kills of her own as JHU jumped out to an 18-9 lead, finally starting to run away with it.
• Tara Register added a service ace to cut the Blue Jay lead to 23-17 before Kishton put away the Mules in the set with a kill and an ace.
SET THREE
• Muhlenberg kept it tight at the beginning of the third set, cutting the lead to 9-7 after a Madison Forrest service ace.
• Hopkins began to pull away, taking a 15-9 lead on another kill from Panagopoulos, one of two Hopkins players (Bliss) to earn 10 or more kills in the match.
• After three straight points from Muhlenberg, JHU went on a nine-point run to take a 24-12 lead before Panagopoulos closed it out with a 25-13 set victory.
Inside the Box Score
• Hopkins put together another outstanding offensive performance, hitting .369 on the match, led by 13 kills with a .684 hitting percentage from Panagopoulos.
• Aston had a well-rounded match, dishing out 30 assists, adding four service aces, three kills and 10 digs.

Kishton added eight kills, 10 digs and three block assists in the match for JHU.
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 24-6 all-time against the Mules, last losing to Muhlenberg back in 2014.
• The 19-match winning streak is a school-record for consecutive victories. The 18-game streak coming in was matched by the 2017 team.
