The Muhlenberg women's basketball team battled back from a seven-point deficit entering the fourth quarter to tie the game midway through the frame but ultimately fell at Washington College, 50-46.

Emilie Benton over the first 3:41 of the fourth quarter tied the game at 38, eliminating the seven-point lead the Shorewomen (3-0, 1-0) held after the first three quarters. The hosts built its lead back up to as many as four before the Mules (1-1, 0-1) pulled to within one at 47-46 with 29 seconds to go. A 3-4 effort from the line for Washington held off the comeback attempt.
Coming out of halftime tied at 22, the Shorewomen outscored the Mules 14-7 in the third quarter to open a 36-29 lead.
Sophomore
Margaux Eripret netted seven points as part of a 13-2 game-opening run for Muhlenberg (1-1, 0-1). Those seven points were sandwiched around threes from senior
Caroline Hogg and sophomore
Tara Szawaluk.
Eripret neared a double-double with a team-high nine points along with nine rebounds. Stout netted eight points. Senior
Madison Kirchofer hauled in a game- and career-high 11 rebounds, leading Muhlenberg to a 59-41 advantage in rebounds.
