WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Dickinson men's swimming team picked up their first win of the 2022-23 campaign with a 60-27 win over the host McDaniel College Green Terror on Saturday afternoon at the Harlow Pool.
Dickinson claimed a win right out of the shoot as the group of
Nolan Chenot,
Daulton Kendall, Henry Lease, and James Wright won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:41.83. The Devils were the only team to compete in the event as
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi,
Connor Frederickson,
Aidan Keillor, and Andrew Kelley hit the wall in 1:43.92. The third DC unit of
Avery Coonin,
Patrick Dunn,
Aaron Stern, and
Sam Strieb clocked in at 1:57.06.
Daniel Vasquez earned a win in his first event of the day which was the 1000-yard freestyle posting a time of 10:36.33, while Ben Lilly landed in second at 10:48.20.
The Red and White went "one-two" during the 200-yard freestyle with Alex Kanard clocking in at 1:51.66, followed by Keillor and his time of 1:52.74.
Dickinson kept up the strong start to the meet by winning the 50-yard freestyle thanks to Chenot who touched the wall in 22.94, while
Reid Schattgen clocked in at 23.06.
A pair of first-years finished one-two during the 200-yard individual medley with Kelley hitting the wall at 2:06.54, followed by Paul Florio three seconds later (2:09.28).
Schattgen got his first win of the day in the 100-yard butterfly thanks to his time of 55.09.
Kendall earned his first individual win of the meet by besting the field during the 100-yard freestyle by finishing in 49.77, with James Wright just off the mark at 49.96.
Colloca-Bianchi clcked in at 56.79 to win the 100-yard backstroke, followed three seconds later by Vasquez (59.96).
The Devils wrapped up the day by taking second during the 200-yard freestyle relay as the group of Chenot, Kelley, Kendall, and Vasquez clocked in at 1;32.56.
