WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Swarthmore College Men's Track & Field competed in beautiful weather at the Billy Butler Invitational hosted by West Chester University on Saturday.
Seven Garnet athletes placed in the top five of their respective events.
Senior
Jared Hunt took second in the shot put with a launch of 14.94 meters (49 feet 0.25 inches).
Senior
Daniel Belkin placed third in the high jump by clearing a bar at 1.88m (6 ft 2 in). Senior
Benjamin Hejna earned fifth in that same event at 1.78m (5ft 10in).
Sophomore
Alex Flowers led the Garnet underclassmen with a third-place effort in the pole vault. He cleared 4.10m (13 ft 5.25 in).
Another senior in
Robert Eppley took fourth in the 110m hurdles by finishing the race in 16.14 seconds.
Senior
Ryan Marrone placed fourth with a 48.35m (158 ft 7 in) heave in the javelin.
Saadiq Garba rounded out the list of Swarthmore seniors that placed top five by running the 400m dash in 51.21 seconds. There were 34 runners in that event.
Swarthmore's next meet is in Chester, Pa., at Widener University on April 13 at 10 a.m.
