Men's Soccer Extends Win Streak To Three

READING, Pa.—With a pair of first-half goals, Swarthmore College Men's Soccer defeated the Alvernia University Golden Wolves 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. After starting the season with a loss in double overtime, the Garnet have now won their past three games.

Senior Yuheng Wang found the back of the net for the second game in a row, scoring in the ninth minute. Sophomore Joe Barile connected with Wang on a pass slid out to the wing, and Wang ripped in a shot out from the left side.

Swarthmore picked up an insurance goal in the 44th minute with Jason Meuth coming into the box and finishing up a ball from Julian Bueno that was played off the Alvernia keeper.

Swarthmore held the Golden Wolves to just one shot in the first half and only five total in the game. Oliver Steinglass recorded two saves in the shutout win.

The Garnet return home on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game against Eastern University.
