GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's soccer team displayed a strong performance in the season home opener, flying past the University of Mary Washington on Friday night at Clark Field.

Final Result
Gettysburg (1-0) 3, Mary Washington (0-1) 0

Top Performers
Charlotte Cenatiempo '20 (Weston, Conn./Weston) - One Goal
Erika Muskus '22 (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) – One Goal
Emma Bedell '22(Chatham, N.J./Mount Saint Mary) – One Goal

How it Happened
First Half: The Bullets had great feeds down in the Eagles territory, but were unable to connect until freshmen Grace Slevin (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox) tipped the ball to Cenatiempo who blazed past the defenders to score on the right side of the frame at the 32:11 marker. Gettysburg held the slight 4-3 shot attempts in the first half.
Second Half: The Bullets played as a unit as great offense and defense was evident throughout the half. Most of the action occurred down in Mary Washington's side and the Orange and Blue took advantage of it. Sophomore Molly O'Shea (Reading, Pa./Wilson) set up Muskus as she made a move and snuck past the goalkeeper for the tally. The final goal of the night came off a plenty kick from Bedell, registering her second career with under 18 minutes to go. Sophomore Maddie Cunningham (Mount Airy, Md./Linganore) played all 90 minutes with three stops.

All-Time Series
