ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's golf team concluded the fall portion of its schedule by winning the team championship at its own invitational hosted at the Hanover Country Club Tuesday afternoon.

Match Summary: Gettysburg won its home invitational for the fourth consecutive season going back to the spring of 2018. The Bullets bested conference rival Dickinson by five strokes, while the second Orange and Blue unit finished third.
Hochman finished in a tie for second with a two-over 73, just two strokes shy of individual medalist John David Coffin from Marymount. The Gettysburg sophomore logged his first birdie on the par-4, 358 eighth hole and capped his day with a birdie on the par-3, 193-yard 18th. Hochman also finished runner-up in the team's home tournament last spring.
Murphy recorded his third top-10 finish of the fall with a 76. He shot one-over on the back nine and posted back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17. Junior
Daniel Rieger (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) just missed the top 10, finishing one stroke behind his senior teammate with a 77. Rieger joined Murphy with a birdie on the par-5, 505-yard 17th hole. Juniors
Quinn Greene (New Milford, Conn./Canterbury School) and
Jimmy Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) each notched one birdie with the former finishing tied for 15th with a 78 and the latter finishing tied for 30th with an 82.
Moffat and Kalamar led Gettysburg's second team with top-10 performances. Moffat finished in a tie for sixth with a career-low tying 75. The sophomore notched his second top-10 showing of the fall on the strength of one birdie and 13 pars. Kalamar led the team with a trio of birdies on No. 1, No. 6, and No. 14. The sophomore shot even-par on the front of the course and tied for eighth with a 76.
Freshmen
Benjamin Ropiak (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich) and
Kieran Gilchrist (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) closed out their opening semesters tied for 23rd and 30th with an 80 and 82, respectively.

Gettysburg finished the fall slate with a team scoring average of 304.3, which is just off the program's record pace of 303.4 from a year ago. The team's best round was a 297 at the Centre Fall Invitational. Ropiak led the team with a scoring average of 75.9 over seven rounds, while Murphy and Harcourt played all nine rounds and ranked second (76.6) and third (76.7), respectively, in scoring average on the team. Kalamar claimed the team's lone individual trophy with a win at the McDaniel Individual Tournament.
