BALTIMORE, Md. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team won its third-straight against Johns Hopkins, defeating the Blue Jays by a score of 38-3 on Friday evening at Goldfarb Gymnasium.
The Generals (9-5, 3-1) won nine of the 10 matches, dropping only the match at 174 pounds. Junior
Riley Parker (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) received a forfeit win at 125 pounds to give W&L a 6-0 lead and the Blue & White never looked back.
Top highlights included an 19-2 tech fall win by senior 141-pounder
Charlie Cunningham (Pequannock, N.J. / Seton Hall Prep) over Erick Rocher and a win by fall (5:18) posted by senior
Joe Salerno (Princeton Junction, N.J. / West Windsor-Plainsboro South) at 165 pounds over Jared Osbourne. For Salerno, it was his 19th pin of the season, just one shy of his own school record of 20 set during the 2019-20 season. He now has 57 career pins, just three away from tying the Centennial Conference record for career pins (60).

The loss dropped Johns Hopkins to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in the Centennial Conference.
Washington and Lee will be back in action on Saturday when it takes on Muhlenberg and the United States Merchant Marine Academy at McDaniel College. The Generals wrestle Muhlenberg at 1:30 pm and USMMA at 3:00 pm.
