Strong Showing for JHU in the Opening Meet

Meet Highlights
  • Victoria Kadiri, coming off a season lasy year when she was the NCAA indoor National Champion in the long jump, picked up where she left off with a successful opening meet. Two Blue Jays placed in the top 10 in the long jump, with Kadiri coming in second with a mark of 5.74 meters. Kadiri also pulled out first place finish in the triple jump with a Cetennial Conference all-time record of 12.38 metes and was tied for first in the 60-meter dash running a time of 7.40.
  • Alex Ross set a Centennial record of her own running a 16:41 in the 5K which led all participants. 
  • The Hopkins women had a very strong showing in the 3,000-meter run, placing four runners in the top six, with Adriana Catalano coming in third and Sara Stephenson in first.
  • Mackenzie Setton, in her first collegiate indoor meet, finished in second in the one mile run with a time of 5:09.31. Lily Sheth came in right behind her at 5:11.4. The Blue Jays added three more top ten finishers in 400-meter dash. In the 400-meter dash, freshman Kathleen Saussy finished in fourth in her first collegiate race, joined by two other teammates in the top ten.
  • Cassidy Brown, Sarah Caulley Soto and Emma Somers all placed in the top five in the pole vault, with Brown being tied for first with a mark of 3.30 meters.
  • JHU had two players in the top 10 of the shot put with junior Kelsey Neff coming in third place. Freshman Jaclyn Donoho came in fourth in the high jump at 1.5 m in her first collegiate event.
  • The Blue Jays men's team had a strong showing in the 3000-meter run, having five of the top six runners in the race. Arthur Beyer finished with a career best 8:28.14 in the run to lead the pack.
  • The Blue Jays also placed five in the top ten of the in the 5000-meter run with Daniel Chen coming in third place with a time of 14:36.4 and Jonas Larson came in fifth.
