BRYN MAWR, Pa. -- Swarthmore College Field Hockey found itself in double overtime for the first time this season and lost to Bryn Mawr College 2-1 on Wednesday.

The Garnet (5-7, 1-5) let up the first goal of the game just 1:35 in but responded right away. Swarthmore freshman Marion Carr scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season 1:49 after Bryn Mawr scored its goal. Carr's six goals are tied for eighth in the Centennial Conference.

Swarthmore took six shots in the second half and two in the first overtime. Bryn Mawr only took one shot in that span. However, the Garnet didn't take any shots in the second overtime and the Owls took six, scoring the game-winner with 2:23 remaining before what would have been a shootout to decide the game.

Garnet senior goalie Zelda Bank made three saves in the game, leaving her four shy of 400 in her career.

No. 17-ranked Johns Hopkins University comes to Clothier Field to take on the Garnet at noon on Saturday.
