BALTIMORE - The Goucher College men's soccer team battled sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins to a 0-0 draw after 45 minutes, but the Blue Jays scored four times in the second half to post a 4-0 win Tuesday night at Homewood Field.
- Johns Hopkins (8-0-2) got its first shot of the game just over three minutes in.
- Jonathan Cui put a shot on goal for Hopkins just past the five-minute mark that was turned aside by Goucher (4-6-2) goalie Jeff Castro (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township).
- Castro made back-to-back saves on Alex Wei in the 14th minute.
- Castro's final save of the opening half came with just under 25 minutes left.
- The Blue Jays took all nine shots in the opening half and all seven corner kicks.
- Castro made another save in the 48th minute.
- The Gophers were whistled for a handball in the box at 47:57, and Aidan Dunphy converted the penalty kick to give Hopkins a 1-0 lead.
- The host took a 2-0 lead on a Goucher own goal in the 54th minute.
- Axel Whamond gave Johns Hopkins a 3-0 lead just past the 58-minute mark.
- Gus Dalzell (Los Angeles, Calif. / Waverly) took Goucher's first shot in the 61st minute and sent it high.
- Nathan Charendoff made it 4-0 for the Blue Jays with just over 18 minutes left.
