SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore College Women's Basketball had a 32-31 third-quarter lead on Saturday but lost 65-51 to Centennial Conference-opponent McDaniel College at Tarble Pavilion.
After winning the first quarter 15-13, Swarthmore went into the half down 29-21. The Garnet opened up the third quarter on a 10-2 run, but the Green Terror took most of the control from there.
Freshman
Kim Kockenmeister and junior
Elizabeth Stiles both scored in double-figures for Swarthmore. Kockenmeister led the team with a career-high 12 points, and Stiles dropped 11 to maintain her team-best 8.5 scoring average this season.
Swarthmore outrebounded its opponent for the fourth time in five games. The Garnet had a 39-30 edge over McDaniel in this one as sophomore
Kendall Tribus pulled in a career-high 12 boards.
The Garnet travel to Gettysburg, Pa., for their next game to take on conference-opponent Gettysburg College. Swarthmore returns to Tarble on Thursday at 6 p.m. for another conference game against Dickinson College.
