GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming built on a solid Friday night effort to finish third at the two-day Gettysburg College Invite at Bullets Pool.
The Red and White began the day with an eight-place result in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of
Bella Gerkin,
Isabel McGovern,
Sarah McHenry, and
Caroline Wasielevski posted a time of 1:51.93. A spot behind them came
Caroline Christianson,
Sydney Farling,
Emma Johnston, and
Norah Wilson at 1:54.41.
Johnston recorded the first Top-5 finish for the Devils on the day by stopping the clock at 4:39.50 during the 400-yard individual medley for fifth.
Sarah Mulcahy clocked in at 4:55.77 for 14th.
McGovern earned a fourth-place result during the 100-yard butterfly thanks to a time of 57.93 which broke the previous school of 58.18 set back in 2018, while
Margot Armstrong claimed 15th in 1:01.51.
Carrington Bowles and
Annelyse Warner had a solid 200-yard freestyle by posting times of 2:10.82 (18th) and 2:13.09 (19th).
A pair of first-years competed in the 100-yard breaststroke with Gerkin finishing in 14th at 1:12.11, while Farling hit the wall in 1:12.64 for 16th.
Two DC swimmers fell inside the Top-10 of the 100-yard backstroke with McHenry claiming eighth at 1:00.66, followed by Christianson in tenth (1:01.01). Wasielevski (1:01.68), Wilson (1:04.72), and O'Connell (1:05.29) also competed in the event.
During the 800-yard freestyle relay the team of
Tori May, Armstrong, Christianson, and Johnston earned a fourth-place result thanks to a time of 8:04.08.
May showcased some skill in the 1650-yard freestyle claiming fourth after hitting the wall in 18:11.23. She then earned a sixth-place result a race later in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.14. Christianson also joined her in the Top-10 of that event finishing in ninth (2:11.66), while McHenry claimed 14th (2:13.23).
Olivia Abbott-Havers saw her first action of the session during the 100-yard freestyle where she grabbed sixth at 53.85. Wilson also took part in the event landing in 20th (56.50).
Farling and Gerkin competed within the 200-yard breaststroke posting marks of 2:37.66 (12th) and 2:40.45 (15th) respectively.
A trio of Devils earned Top-10 spots in the 200-yard butterfly led by McGovern in fourth at 2:08.93 which broke her own record set earlier this season, followed by Johnston in ninth (2:14.18) and Mulcahy at tenth (2:14.99). Armstrong was two seconds outside the Top-10 in 11th at 2:16.10.
The final race of the meet saw the team of Abbott-Havers, Johnston, McGovern, and Wasielevski take fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay thanks to a time of 3:38.39. The other DC group of Christianson, May, McHenry, and Wilson landed in ninth at 3:44.69.
Swarthmore won the event with 1026 points, followed by Gettysburg (873.5), Dickinson (449), Ursinus (421.5), Scranton (338), and Shippensburg (259).

Friday - December 2nd
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team put forth a strong effort on Friday evening during night one of the Gettysburg College Invite as the Red and White sit in fourth-place heading into Saturday at Bullets Pool.
In the first race of the day the 200-yard freestyle relay the unit of
Olivia Abbott-Havers,
Isabel McGovern,
Caroline Wasielevski, and
Norah Wilson secured fourth with a time of 1:38.24. The other Devils team of
Margot Armstrong,
Sarah McHenry,
Sarah Mulcahy, and Isobell O'Connell finished in tenth at 1:46.55.
First-year
Emma Johnston was the lone DC athlete in the Top-5 during the 500-yard freestyle taking fifth by touching the wall in 5:15.43.
Caroline Christianson fell just outside the Top-10 in 11th thanks to a time of 5:18.10.
Carrington Bowles and
Annelyse Warner clocked in at 5:46.25 and 5:50.73 respectively.
McGovern earned a Top-10 slot in the 200-yard individual medley by stopping the clock in 2:11.23 for seventh. McHenry and Mulcahy finished within a second of each other with times of 2:19.25 (19th) and 2:20.51 (20th).
Wasielevski had a strong outing during the 50-yard freestyle posting a mark of 24.61 for fourth, while Abbott-Havers came in seventh at 24.74. Wilson (25.73), O'Connell (26.37), and Armstrong (26.52) also competed in the event for the Red and White.
The Devils rounded out the evening with a sixth-place result in the 400-yard medley relay as the group of
Bella Gerkin,
Tori May, Abbott-Havers, and McGovern finished in 4:02.75, while the team of
Sydney Farling, Johnston, McHenry, and Wilson landed in eighth at 4:09.06.
The host Bullets of Gettysburg lead the field after day one with 307.5 points, followed by Swarthmore (258), Ursinus (153), Dickinson (151), Scranton (91.5), and Shippensburg (52).
