LANCASTER, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's track and field team saw a number of top 10 finishes at the Franklin & Marshall Little Dip Invitational on Friday evening.
The meet was the team's first in nearly two months, as the Bullets last competed in it season-opening meet at the Franklin & Marshall Open back on Dec. 1.
No team scoring was kept at the event.
On the track, junior
Hailey Moseman (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) led Gettysburg with a runner-up spot in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.27. Senior
Danielle DeMichael (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) also cracked the top-10 in the event, placing sixth in a time of 2:30.89. DeMichael also finished seventh in the mile, clocking 5:42.55.
In the 400-meter dash, freshman
Grace Corcoran (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) claimed seventh and junior
Leah Hill (Media, Pa./Penncrest) claimed 10th with times of 1:09.32 and 1:11.09, respectively.
Junior
Emily Wielk (West Haven, Conn./Sacred Heart) took seventh in the 300-meter dash, finishing with a time of 51.26.
Senior
Paige Wesolowski (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket Regional) led the Bullets on the field as she finished third in the pole vault, clearing a height of 9-06.25. She also tallied sixth in the 400-meter dash (1:08.07).
Sophomore
Diana Bianco Riley (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary Academy Bay View) tossed a new personal record in the weight throw, 37-03.00, moving her into sixth all-time at Gettysburg to place sixth in the event.
Freshman
Caitlin Yap (Wayne, N.J./Morris Catholic) finished tied for seven in the pole vault (8-00.50) by clearing 2.45 on the first attempt and freshman
Jenna Sittineri (Cape May Court House, N.J./Middle Township) placed 10th with the same height, but it took her more attempts.
Freshman
Katherine Mangione (Doylestown, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) collected eighth-place in the shot put, heaving 32-07.50.
Freshman
Nicole Mangaroo (Brooklyn, N.Y./ Polytech Prep Country Day) grabbed sixth-place in the triple jump, leaping 29-04.50.
In the high jump, the freshmen class of
Anna Pienkos (North Haven, Conn./Sacred Heart Academy), Mangaroo, and
Katie Seccafico (Halesite, N.Y./Huntington) made their presence known as they all placed in the top-10. Pienkos tied for fifth (4-07.00), Mangaroo claimed seventh (4-07.00), and Seccafico took ninth (4-05.00).
Gettysburg resumes action at the Susquehanna Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 9:30 a.m.
