HOBOKEN, N.J.—A pair of goals from senior forward
Marin McCoy led No. 21 Swarthmore College Women's Soccer past the Vassar College Brewers on Friday night in the first game of the Stevens Institute of Technology's Engineering Cup.
McCoy took five shots en route to scoring the brace. She headed in her first goal in the 29th minute to clean up a loose ball in front of the goal. In the 56th minute, McCoy followed up a saved shot taken by
Sydney Covitz and buried it for her team-leading fourth goal of the year and 47th in her career.
Swarthmore tallied 19 shots in the win while only allowing five Vassar attempts. Vassar netted its lone goal in the 66th minute. The goal allowed was the first by the Garnet defense this season.
Swarthmore (3-0) continues play on Saturday against NYU on Sunday at 2 p.m.
