No. 17 Garnet Drop Battle to Ursinus

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - No. 17 Swarthmore College Men's Basketball fell in a Centennial Conference battle to Ursinus, 95-86, on Tuesday night at Tarble Pavilion.

Aidan Godfrey and Vinny DeAngelo led the way for the Garnet with each recording 22 points. In 27 minutes off the bench, first-year forward added a team-high eight rebounds to his new career-high 22 points. George Visconti and Matt Mulvey added 12 points for Swarthmore.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Godfrey scored in the paint to give the Garnet an early first half lead, which was later extended by a three-pointer by Visconti. Mulvey knocked down a triple with the help of Abass Sallah as Swarthmore looked to take a double-digit lead. Two-minutes after Mulvey's shot from distance, Justin Tucker hit a three to give the Garnet a 12-point edge.

- In the first half, DeAngelo and Mulvey recorded a combined five three-pointers. Swarthmore shot 85.7% from the free throw line, 

- After taking a one-point lead into the locker room, the Garnet couldn't capitalize on two offensive opportunities. Ursinus took the lead with an early jumper and a fast break three-pointer by Sean Neylon. DeAngelo cut into the Bears lead by hitting back-to-back buckets for the home team.

- With 4:05 remaining in the game, Mulvey knocked down one of his four triples to get the Garnet within three points at 82-79. On an inbounds play by the Bears, Michael Caprise took the ball away from Kyle Maurer and laid it up for two as the Garnet trailed late in the game.

UP NEXT
A 2:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday in Westminster, Md. against McDaniel College in next on the schedule for No. 17 Swarthmore. Saturday's contest will be the final road game of the season before the Garnet return to Tarble Pavilion for a pair of games to close out the regular season.
