Chris Richards converted a penalty kick with five minutes left in the first half for the lone score as the Muhlenberg men's soccer team remained undefeated with a 1-0 win at Drew.
The win was the second good road result for the Mules (3-0-1) against a regionally ranked team in the last four days. On Saturday, Muhlenberg (
ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic Region) tied Messiah (ninth). The Rangers (3-2) are ranked 10th in the region.
The Mules had taken only one shot before senior
Jordan Cimring drew a foul in the box in the closing minutes of the first half. Richards nailed the PK for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.
Muhlenberg had the better of play in the second half, outshooting Drew 6-4.

Gnim Bazim and sophomore
Mark Walter (pictured above) held Drew, which had scored seven goals in its previous two games, to one shot on goal. Senior
Raymond Leto saved it for his second shutout of the season.
"I thought we played well in the second half, with a lot of confidence, determination and grit," said head coach
Sean Topping. "Our back four was great again tonight against Drew's dangerous attack.
"
Taylan Akdag did a great job holding the ball up in the second half, while
Josh Bordwick,
Phillip Bell and
Cameron Miller locked down the midfield."
The Mules are undefeated through four games for the first time since their Centennial Conference championship season of 2014.
