LEXINGTON, Ky. - On Saturday, McDaniel College men's golf senior
Ryan McGarry set a new 54-hole school record with a 215 to finish sixth at the Transylvania Fall Invitational held at the University Club of Kentucky.
As a team, the Green Terror finished sixth with a final round 291. They finished three strokes behind Kenyon and four back of Centre. Greensboro won the event by 14 strokes, finishing the three-day event at one-under par after a final round 281.
McGarry finished the two-day tournament at one-under par, finishing the event with 10 birdies, including four in Sunday's third and final round. He totaled seven of his birdies on the back nine where he finished three-under over the three days.
McGarry held the previous school record with a 218 set at the 2021 Centennial Conference Men's Golf Championship at Hershey Country Club.
Meanwhile, freshman
Charlie Dolan shot a six-under par 66 in Saturday's final round. As a result, he moved up 37 spots on the leaderboard to finish 45th with a 229. He totaled seven birdies with five on the front nine where he was five-under.
Dolan finished two strokes off the school and Centennial Conference single round record held by McGarry who carded an eight-under par 64 at the Dickinson Fall Invitational on Sept. 18, 2021.
Sophomore
Dell Grieser moved up 11 spots on the final day to finish 26th following a one-over par 73 while sophomore
Hogan Shulze finished 28th with a 228 which included a career-best 72 in Friday's second round. Junior
Joe Graceffa finished the 54-hole event with a 238.
McDaniel returns to action Sept. 11-12 at The Gauntlet presented by Premier Collegiate Tournaments at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course in Harrisburg, Pa.
