DOWNINGTOWN, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Golf saw some significant improvement in round two of the Rosemont Invitational at Downingtown Country Club to finish in fourth place out of 18 squads this weekend.
The Garnet shot 310 on Saturday and carded a 302 on Sunday, finishing 36-over on the par-72 course. Swarthmore sophomore
Michael Brown shot par on Sunday to finish +4 for the weekend with a 148 and a tie for seventh overall. He carded seven birdies over the weekend.
Dan Altieri registered a 76 in round one and a 78 on day two to finish tied for 18th.
Adam Agustin shot a 156 (+12) to tie for 25
th.
Vamsi Damerla had a dramatic improvement in the second round, shooting seven strokes better than the first round. His 157 for the weekend gave him 32nd overall.
Chris Zhang carded a 161 with a consistent 81 and 80 round score.
Nick DiMaio posted an 86 in round one and cut his score to 77 in round two to finish with a 163. His Sunday score moved him into one .
Max Katz-Balmes posted a 166 (+22) and
Hunter Hughes recorded a 167 (+23).
Swarthmore finished 15 strokes ahead of Centennial opponent Dickinson but were chasing Gettysburg and Franklin & Marshall.
The Garnet return to action on Tuesday at the Ace Club.
