Cantine Highlights Solid Day for Distance at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's track & field team wrapped up its weekend at the final day of the Widener Invitational on Saturday. 

Aidan Cantine led the Garnet with a top three finish in the 1500m run, while the men earned several distance personal records.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cantine placed third overall out of 89 competitors in the 1500m run with a time of 3:52.85 as he narrowly achieved a personal record. Ethan Rothenberg also set a new personal-best mark at 4:00.11 to finish 13th overall, while Jonah Ring recorded a personal record with a 4:09.62 finish. 

- Colin DeLaney narrowly earned a personal-best in the steeplechase with a 9:54.34 finish. The freshman recorded a sixth place effort out of 19 competitors. 

- Jonah Covitz placed 10th in the long jump with a top distance of 6.14m. 

UP NEXT
The Garnet return to action this week at the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday.
