CARLISLE, Pa. – Senior Christian Haldeman (Center Valley, Pa./Moravian Academy) claimed medalist honors for the first time in his career and the Gettysburg College men's golf team won its fifth tournament of the season Monday at the Dickinson College Spring Invitational held at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course.
 
Despite cool and rainy conditions, Gettysburg placed four competitors in the top 10 and finished with a team score of 298 to out-distance runner-up McDaniel College by 14 strokes. The Bullets swept the fall and spring tournaments hosted by Dickinson this season.
 
Haldeman ended his day in a four-way tie for the top spot with a two-over 74 to top the field of 61 golfers. He earned his first collegiate title when the competitors matched scorecards. The senior bested his season low by six strokes and posted his best score since firing a career-low 72 on the second day of the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational on April 24, 2017.
 
Both of Haldeman's classmates – Danny Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) and Dane Sethre-Hofstad (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead) – shot 74s as well. For Harcourt, it was his sixth top-five finish of the season, while Sethre-Hofstad placed among the top five for the fifth time.
 
Freshman Tristan Hochman (Westport, Conn./Staples) finished in a four-way tie for sixth with a four-over 76 and bested his season low by five strokes. Rounding out the Gettysburg golfers was freshman Hayden Moffat (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) who carded an 80 to finish in a tie for 20th.  
 
Gettysburg competes in the McDaniel Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club in Abottstown, Pa., this Saturday and Sunday.
