Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 19 Women's Soccer Remains Unbeaten

SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Soccer, now ranked 19th in the nation in the latest poll, improved to 10-0-1 following a 2-0 win at home on Tuesday night against the Washington College Shorewomen.

Swarthmore dominated time of possession and out-shot the visitors 27-2. Washington's two attempts came late in the contest and were not threatening in the least.

Sydney Covitz struck first for the Garnet. The junior netted her fourth goal of the season in the 40th minute. Covitz received a pass from Amy Harris on the left side at the top of the box; she then cut back central and snapped off a right-footed shot that curled in just inside the right pipe.

The Garnet struck again in the 64th minute after earning a corner kick on the right side. Brittany Weiderhold took the kick and blasted it into the six where defender Eleonore Moser connected with the pass, heading it into the goal, off the crossbar and down into the goal for her second collegiate goal.

Moser is the ninth different Garnet player to score this season.

Washington College dipped to 6-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play with the loss. Swarthmore improved to 4-0-1 in the Centennial.

The Garnet have a non-league game on Sunday. They travel to Farmingdale St. in New York for a 1 p.m. game.
