Match Summary
Gettysburg jumped out to a three-stroke lead with a 294 on the opening day and the Bullets needed all of those strokes on Sunday. McDaniel, York, and Franklin & Marshall turned in lower scores, but Gettysburg's 296 was enough to hold the rest of the field at bay by one stroke, marking the closest finish in tournament history. Gettysburg secured its third team title of the fall following the Moravian Weyhill Classic on Sept. 13 and the Battle of the Burg on Oct. 3-4. It was also Gettysburg's first title in the 10-year history of the event.
Moffat's consistency was unmatched on the course over the two days as he tied his career low for the third consecutive round. On Saturday, the senior shot 34 on the front nine and 36 on the back nine, while on Sunday those scores reversed. He tallied a total of seven birdies during the event, including three on the back nine on Sunday. Moffat broke the tournament record by one stroke and turned in the fourth-lowest 36-hole tournament score in program history.
