HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College baseball team (6-9) fell short against Immaculata (8-4) on Tuesday at Kannerstein Field, falling by a score of 15-4. First year Wyatt Mattison was tabbed with the loss in a matchup that was not short on power hitting. Stephen Dibatista grabbed the win with six innings of five-hit work on the mound, striking out six and surrendering five hits.

Haverford and the Mighty Macs combined for six home runs on the day. The game's first run came from Haverford in the bottom of the second, thanks to Zach Buck's solo shot to left field. It was Buck's only hit of the game in his two at-bats. Mistakes haunted the Fords throughout the game, and it started in the third inning. A wild pitch, error, and throwing error not only allowed Immaculata back into the game, but allowed the visitors to take the lead, scoring two runs.

The Mighty Macs took over in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring nine runs. Joey Wright hit a three-run home run to left field after Isaiah Payon scored on a wild pitch. In the fifth inning, Immaculata's Chris Javier homered to left field to plate three runs. The Mighty Macs scored their nine runs on only five hits in those two innings combined.

The home run barrage would continue in the sixth inning, this time from Haverford. Jack Wallis doubled to right-center, and Zack Becker followed that by sending one deep to left-center for a two-run home run, his second of the season.

After three straight innings of home runs, the seventh inning was relatively quiet. However, Immaculata scored one run to extend their lead, making the score 12-3 in favor of the visitors. Things got back to normal in the eighth inning when Jack Wallis hit a solo home run for Haverford's fourth run of the game.

In the ninth inning, Immaculata's Jay Lawrence hit a home run to bring the power-hitting clinic to a close. Haverford finished the game with three of their six hits coming via the long ball. Becker and Wallis each recorded multiple hits on the day.

On Thursday, March 24, the Fords will look to get back on track as they head to TCNJ for a non-conference game. The first pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m. in Ewing, N.J.
