ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - McDaniel College women's swimming sophomore
Amanda Thompson posted two individual wins, but the Green Terror fell in a dual meet at Elizabethtown Saturday, 137-59.
Thompson touched the wall first in both the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle with season-best times. She finished three seconds ahead of Elizabethtown's Hailey Poulos in the 500 with a time of 5:36.68. In the 1,000 free, she finished nine seconds ahead of Poulos in a time of 11:31.20.
Thompson was also a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team with freshman
Jane Walkinshaw, senior
Ella Tomkins and senior
Ashley Farrington that earned second-place points with a time of 1:48.41.
Tomkins placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 26.80 seconds. Walkinshaw and Farrington finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Tomkins also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.33.
Junior
Abby Cook placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.23, just ahead of Walkinshaw who touched the wall in 1:01.40. Cook was third in the 200-yard IM in 2:33.28.
Senior
Emma Lindell also had a medal finish in the 200-yard freestyle as she claimed third with a time of 2:15.88.

Mackenzie Skelton began the day with a third-place finish in a time of 2:20.82.
McDaniel will host a quad meet with Bryn Mawr, Stevenson and Hood next Saturday, Jan. 28 at Harlow Pool on Senior Day. Meet time is at 1 p.m.
