MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Gettysburg College track and field registered a duo of top-three finishes and the Bullets placed seventh among 22 at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday.
Senior
Alex Petrecca (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) led the Orange and Blue with a victory in the 1,500-meter run. He clocked a time of 3:59.07 to beat out 59 runners in the event. Petrecca also completed a strong showing in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.23 to place third. Junior
Sam Sheldon (Tully, N.Y./Tully) also competed in the 1,500-meter run to claim 10th (4:07.47).
Senior
Mike Miller (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) tallied seventh in the 10,000-meter run, clocking a time of 34:36.32. Sophomore
Nicholas Grissinger (Palmyra, Pa./Milton Hershey) placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 56.59.
On the field, freshman
Steven Heinbaugh (Fairfield, Pa./Fairfield) set a new personal record (PR) in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13-1 ½ to notch fourth place out of 16. In the javelin, freshman
Matthew Brown (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) grabbed ninth out of 44 athletes with a mark of 168-3.
Sophomore
Colin Motill (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield), junior
Dylan O'Neil (Brownstown, Pa./Conestoga Valley), sophomore
Cael O'Brien (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough), and sophomore
E.J. Fernandez (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) collected seventh in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.75.

Thad Cwiklinski (Glen Rock, Pa./York Catholic), freshman
Matthew Weller (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill), Grissinger, and Heinbaugh crossed the finish line in 3:28.65 to register third in the 4x400-meter relay.
The Bullets continue their season when they compete at the Messiah Invitational and Multi Thursday through next Saturday.
