Devils Compete in the Big Apple on Friday Night

NEW YORK - The Dickinson men's indoor track and field started off a busy weekend with a trip to the Big Apple on Friday evening to compete in the New York University Invitational at the NYC Armory.

Sprints
In the unseeded 60m the Red Devils claimed the top spot on the podium thanks to Travis Dobbins clocking in at 7.29. William O'Connor and Matthew Greenley also took part in the race hitting the line in 7.65 (15th) and 7.75 (20th) respectively.

Greenley was the lone DC runner in the 200m posting a time of 24.97.

Ian Gormley landed within the Top-20 of the 400m crossing the stripe at 52.58 for 15th, while Luke Sternick finished in 55.40 (33rd).

Distance
A quartet of Devils were involved in the 800m led by Trevor Richwine in seventh at 1:55.82, followed by Teddy Mercer in 15th (1:59.50). Nolan Meincke and Benjamin Moseman clocked in at 2:01.03 and 2:06.37.

Alexander Kane was just outside the Top-10 of the 3000m hitting the stripe in 8:45.74 for 11th. Romario Cruz had a solid showing as well posting an 8:54.62 (17th).

Mercer claimed a victory for the Red and White during the mile run with a mark of 4:17.85, while Meincke clocked in at 4:28.52 for 13th. Moseman finished in 4:37.41 to grab 29th.

Relays 
The team of Gormley, Mercer, Richwine and Sternick hit the finish line at 3:34.36 during the 4x400m for ninth.

Field
Dobbins got his second win of the night in the high jump posting a leap of 1.93m. Kieran Santos also took part in the event landing in sixth after his 1.83m. He then followed that up with a ninth-place result during the long jump with a 6.02m.

Ethan Hart won the shot put with a 15.78m which was 0.16m better than his next closest competitor Nathan Williams of Stevenson University. Matthew Harvey also had a good night during the shot put as his toss of 12.15m was good for fifth.

Next on the Track
Dickinson gets right back at it tomorrow morning at 8:45am when they compete in the Frank Coleen Invite at Ursinus College.
