Corvi's Pair Leads Hopkins Comeback Win at Haverford

The Basics
• Score: #10 Johns Hopkins-2, Haverford-1
• Records: JHU (8-2, 3-0 CC) • HC (6-4, 0-3 CC)
• Location: Haverford, PA • Swan Field
• The Short Story: Junior Michaela Corvi scored a pair of goals in the final 2:12 of regulation to fuel 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins' 2-1 come-from-behind win at Haverford Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
• Haverford grabbed the early lead when Casey Wakai crossed the ball into the circle and Kelsey Chai finished just 6:20 into the game.
• Hopkins had a chance to tie the game with 7:18 to play in the game when the Blue Jays were awarded a penalty stroke. The shot missed wide of the cage however.
• The Blue Jays finally pulled even with just 2:12 remaining. Sophomore Izzy Thompson drew the goalie out of the cage and then passed the pass to Corvi, who scored from the middle of the circle to tie the game.
• Hopkins earned a penalty corner with 14 seconds to play and the game still tied. Senior Katie McErlean fired a shot that was stopped by Fords' goalie Sunny Truslow. But sophomore Maddie Brown-Scherer collected the rebound and slotted a pass to Corvi, who scored the game-winner with just six ticks left on the clock.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 32-9-1 all-time against Haverford and has won four straight in the series. This was the fifth straight meeting that was decided by just one goal. In fact, 10 of the last 13 meetings between the two have been decided by a single goal.
