COLLEGEVILLE, PA. - Reilly Morgan and Grace Lynch combined for seven goals as the Ursinus College women's lacrosse team defeated Bryn Mawr 13-6 on Saturday afternoon at Patterson Field. Morgan scored the first three goals of the contest, while Lynch led the Bears with eight points behind three goals and three assists.

With the win, the Bears improved to 5-3 on the season and 1-0 in Centennial Conference action. Meanwhile, the Owls fall to 6-2 and start conference play with a 0-1 record.

Morgan's first goal came at the 13:54 mark of the first period after senior Tori Rubin found her rolling to the front of the net. Just under 45 seconds later, Lynch found the senior attackmen trailing her and after wrapping around the net, the Bears led 2-0. At the 10:08-mark, Lynch found Morgan cutting behind her defender and found in front of the net for the hattrick.

The resilient Owls didn't shy away and quickly made it a 3-2 game after back-to-back goals from Isabel Shin. The Bears responded with two goals of their own from first-years Maeve Leonzi and Lynch, made the score 5-2 with 4:06 to play in the period. Bryn Mawr closed the period on a 2-0 run after Shin and Maddie Sullivan each scored with less than two minutes in the period.

With the rain starting to fall, both defenses stepped up in the second period as the Bears mustered the only goal after Andrea Hook found the back of the net at the 6:20 mark. Goalkeepers Alexa Machado and Jessica Calloway each earned a save in the period as the Bears had a slight 6-4 edge at halftime.

In the third period, after Bryn Mawr won the opening draw control, Machado made a save to keep it a two-goal lead. Ursinus capitalized as Mary Michaud found Julia McCann in front of the net for her first goal of the game. The Bears stretched their lead to four at the 9:26 mark after Lynch scored her second of the contest. The Owls cut the deficit to just three after Shin scored her fourth of the game with five minutes to play in the period.

The Bears closed out the period on a 2-0 run after Michaud and Lynch each scored within two minutes for a 10-5 heading in the fourth.

Each team opened the period trading a goal apiece after Rachel Doubet scored her second of the season and Sidney Bachrach scored on a free position opportunity for the Owls. Ursinus closed out the game with goals from McCann and Morgan for the 13-6 conference victory.

The Bears held a 34-11 advantage in shots and a slight 21-15 edge in ground balls. The Bears converted on 81% (17-21) of their clears while Bryn Mawr only converted 50% (11-22). Machado earned the win in net for Ursinus collecting five saves through 60 minutes of action.
