ALLENTOWN, Pa. - No. 9-ranked Swarthmore College Baseball lost 6-5 at Muhlenberg College on Sunday afternoon. The Garnet (16-10, 4-6) allowed all six Mules (16-12, 6-4) runs in the fourth inning.
Freshman
Luke Mutz gave Swarthmore a 2-0 lead with a single in the top of the second. And senior
Charles Levitt scored on a sacrifice fly by junior
Cole Beeker after he hit a triple, giving the Garnet a 3-0 lead in the third.
A Beeker double in the fifth brought the Garnet within two. And a single by junior
Holden Bridge made it 6-5 in the eighth. Bridge went 2-for-4, upping his Centennial Conference-leading average to .445 this season.
Freshman
Zach Camp was lights out in 4.2 innings of relief for the Garnet. He didn't allow a run while giving up just three hits with three strikeouts and no walks.
Muhlenberg had six hits in its big fourth inning. All six were singles.
Swarthmore plays Haverford College in its next game on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Clothier Field.
