Bad Fourth Inning Plagues #9 Garnet At Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - No. 9-ranked Swarthmore College Baseball lost 6-5 at Muhlenberg College on Sunday afternoon. The Garnet (16-10, 4-6) allowed all six Mules (16-12, 6-4) runs in the fourth inning.

Freshman Luke Mutz gave Swarthmore a 2-0 lead with a single in the top of the second. And senior Charles Levitt scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Cole Beeker after he hit a triple, giving the Garnet a 3-0 lead in the third.

A Beeker double in the fifth brought the Garnet within two. And a single by junior Holden Bridge made it 6-5 in the eighth. Bridge went 2-for-4, upping his Centennial Conference-leading average to .445 this season.

Freshman Zach Camp was lights out in 4.2 innings of relief for the Garnet. He didn't allow a run while giving up just three hits with three strikeouts and no walks.

Muhlenberg had six hits in its big fourth inning. All six were singles.
